I almost have all the required documents except for my certificate of confirmation. The office of our parish claims they don’t have my name in their list. This was because several years ago, the rectory, offices and a small part of the church of the Immaculate Concepcion in Batangas City was burned to the ground along with a good number of its records.
We’re now searching over my photo albums looking for proof that I was truly confirmed in that church with my Tita Carme and Tito Wig as sponsors. At least with this, we have proof to show the manangs that the whole thing truly happened.
One option they’re telling me is to have myself confirmed again. They’re saying maybe I could do that when I visit Batangas this Sunday for the Fiesta. I don’t know about that. It’s a sacrament and should be considered holy. In my opinion, you don’t do it again just to get a lousy certificate. There has to be another way.
