I was supposed to go biking with Leeds this morning, but just yesterday afternoon when I picked up Cheez Whiz from Cha‘s house and was about to load it on the roof rack, oil started to gush out of the left leg of my suspension fork. Bummer.

I knew right then I won’t be riding today. It was 5:30 in the afternoon – too late to travel to Cartimar for a visit to Hermie of Velo City for a fork overhaul. From the looks of it, I may have to change the bushings and replace the oil, and I don’t know how much that would cost me.

Talking about servicing, Chai’s left foglamp is also busted. It was last Monday when I noticed as I was driving home taking the old Tumana route. So even if my first name isn’t Menemis, I was determined to bring out the MacGuyver in me. I am going replace the bulb, I told myself. So this morning I took out the manual and a philips screwdriver. Only after step one did I realize I have to take out the front bumper. Damn. It wasn’t stated in the manual, but there’s really no freaking way I can reach the assembly from where I am! And just like that, my handyman days are over.

Now I’m thinking of planning a trip to Batangas next Saturday. The first thing I’m going to do is drop by Lipa and visit Sonny’s Group N shop to have my foglamps fixed and the new gold bulbs installed for the headlights. After that I’d go to Rigo’s place to pick up Ate V so I can use her temporarily while Cheez Whiz is in the shop. I’m still thinking if I should stay till Sunday for a bike ride or go back to Manila after all my chores are done. We’ll see.
