My body is aching from yesterday’s swim. I only did three laps but it seems like I did more. I should relearn how to relax in the water again.

Yesterday was the Outing/Christmas party of the office, and we did it in 8 Waves. It was fun and a very welcome change from the previous outings and parties that we had. Kudos to the organizers for job well done.

Today I’ll be going to Joven Bike Shop to buy the bikes for the Cancer Warriors kids. Then I need to drop by a mall and buy Robin a gift for her first birthday party later at 3pm in Chili’s. After that I need to go to the supermarket and do some shopping. Looks like it’s going to be a full day for me.

Should I go to Batangas City tomorrow to join the Lobo bike ride?

A Lesson on Physics in the Office

Two objects cannot occupy the same space at the same time. That’s what our high school physics teacher taught us. I know that, you know that.

So if I scheduled a whole day workshop in the conference room first from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., why would you schedule a meeting there from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.? Were you absent when your teacher taught you this, or were you just not paying attention?

I woke up asking myself why I’m willing to be stuck in an office, managing projects today when I could be on my way to Northern Luzon to help those that were badly affected by Typhoon Juan. I can do better things. I can help improve lives. I can help ease the pain.

An Office All-Nighter After A Long Time

I was here in the office at 8:20 in the morning for a conference call that didn’t push through. It’s 12:21 a.m. and I’m still here, making sure that the project I’m launching, hopefully in a bit, is acceptable.

I remember our weekly all-nighters when I started working here. Romy was my boss and we would stay till three in the morning, churning out community stats for the mancom come sun up. It was such a riot! I remember us messaging each other, asking if it would be rude to ask our boss if we could go home already. As far as I remember, it was Chegay, April, EJ, Aisa, Yoj, Fiesta, Romy, Dan, Moby and myself.

Those were the days.

Now, it’s just me, the guard and the staff of TFC Now! It’s not exactly the same. It’s quite far, to be honest. The barkada atmosphere isn’t here anymore.

I don’t know. Maybe it’s just me getting old.

A Bigger Team Would Be Nice

I haven’t blogged in a long time. Although I’ve been meaning to, I’m just too tired to write my thoughts. That’s why I’m more active my Twitter account than here.

There are a lot of things happening in the office. I think I have about eight projects lined up, with priority levels that start from medium, and it’s starting to take its toll. I really need to beef up the web development team for this, and that doesn’t mean just hiring a lot of designers. For it to be truly more robust, I would need web architects who can double as project officers, graphic designers, usability officers and coders.

I need to talk to the boss about this.
