My First Legal Digital Download

Ride the Divide Soundtrack

Ride the Divide Soundtrack

I’m proud of myself. Last night, for the first time, I bought digital music. Yes, you read that right — bought. I didn’t torrent it. I didn’t Frostwire it. I paid for it with my credit card and downloaded the music legally. And it felt good.

So what did I buy? Well, I bought the soundtrack of the film that inspired me to do my four-day Mindoro bikepacking trip – Ride the Divide. I didn’t have the songs with me in my iPhone when I was doing the ride, but they were playing in my head the whole time. Now it’s in my playlist, and I’ll be listening to it for a long time.

Wouldn’t it be great if iTunes opened its online music store in the Philippines?

U23D Rocks!

It’s my first time to watch something on IMAX and I’m happy that it’s U23D. It’s a truly unique experience and I would recommend it even to non-U2 fans. Yes, you have to see it. It’s that good.

Toto’s Manila Concert: We was robbed!

The Stage of the Toto ConcertWe weren’t able to watch Toto in their Aliw theater concert a few years back, so I was happy that they came back again to let me listen to their hits live.

So the venue was at the Araneta Coliseum and the date was April 3, 2008 at 8:00 in the evening. My brother and I bought tickets the Saturday before the event. We were ready for Toto. Yeah, baby!

So how was it? In all honesty, it’s a wenk wenk moment – a big disappointment. Usually the opening song would be that would make people get up from their seats and get their groove on, but since they played something hardly anyone is familiar with (I think it’s one of the tracks in their newer albums), the Pinoy audience just watched. How sad. Their vocalist can’t do vocals anymore and he tried to manage this by letting the audience do the significant part of the singing. Now what the heck was that? The worse part is they just breezed through their four hit slow songs, which I think is the main reason why a lot of people went. Now they said that they were only jamming. What the heck!

From the nosebleed area, there’s this one guy shouting “lugi“. I guess this summed up the whole experience.

Oh well, at least there’s Swing Out Sister this coming Monday.

Concert Boy

Concert Tickets
My type of concerts. Finally.

I finally bought concert tickets after a long time. Yes, I don’t care if they’re being promoted by RJTV. I am going to watch Swing Out Sister and Toto!

For Toto, which will be on April 3, I will be watching it with my brother and his “friend”. For Swing Out Sister, I’m watching it with Charo, Karen, my brother and his “friend”.

Now c’mon! Sing with me! Am I the same girl? Yes, I am. No I’m not (that was my sister’s murdered lyrics, by the way).
