Oh my God! I can’t believe my freaking luck! That long line in Shopwise Libis was worth it! I fucking won the P249M jackpot! Yeah! Now bow down before me and tell me who’s your daddy!
Happy April fool’s everyone!

I finally bought concert tickets after a long time. Yes, I don’t care if they’re being promoted by RJTV. I am going to watch Swing Out Sister and Toto!
For Toto, which will be on April 3, I will be watching it with my brother and his “friend”. For Swing Out Sister, I’m watching it with Charo, Karen, my brother and his “friend”.
Now c’mon! Sing with me! Am I the same girl? Yes, I am. No I’m not (that was my sister’s murdered lyrics, by the way).
I am proud to say that we supported the Earth Hour in our house. When the clock struck the hour of eight in the evening, we turned off the air conditioner and lights in our room and joined Graham and my in-laws in the lanay to spend an hour with just flashlights, candles and a rechargeable radio.
I think we’re just one of the handful of people who participated along Marymount street in La Vista village. To be honest, I was very disappointed. Being a village of educated people, I was expecting more from them. Instead, our neighbors left and right still had their aircons and TVs running while we were enjoying each other’s company in the dark. Oh well.
On the bright side I am particularly proud of my in-laws. I was thinking that they would insist on having their lights on because “the neighbors’ lights are turned on anyway”, but when we explained the whole reason for this, they graciously turned off their lights and joined us.
I just hope that in the future, we won’t need events such as this to be conscious of our environment. It should come in naturally.
To those who joined the Earth Hour, cheers to all of you.
Karen and I noticed this when we had breakfast in Shakey’s opposite the domestic airport. It was such a riot that I got the Flip Video camera from the car and shot my own “user-generated content”. Check it out people!

It seems the Apple bug is slowly infecting people in the office. First, it was the now-defunct Big Dipper with their Power Mac G4s, then it was Gramps with his iBook. Now there are more and more people in the office using Macs. There’s me, Gwen, Mia, Charles, a couple of guys from Solucient and one or two from News/Newsbreak using MacBooks or PowerBooks. What’s so cool is Connie’s thinking of getting a MacBook Air for work and Miguel had exploratory talks with Apple on using Macs in the workplace. Really good news.
I’m beginning to hate these SEO techniques that they’re doing just to be on top of Google’s search result list. I’m keeping this other blog and there’s this person who commented on my recent post saying how good it was and that he would add me to my blogroll and then Bam! He segued into how it’s similar to his entry and posted a link. And so what am I to do but delete it. Bam! Hehehehe!
I’m actually OK with leaving comments on blogs. I actually love reading them. But please make them sincere, right?
… the concerts that you really want to watch are being promoted only on RJTV 29.
Check out the video. I think it’s brilliant how they managed to do viral marketing by letting people embed their video to their sites. Before this, I went to their site at www.carmenhasacrushonyou.com, put my name and picture and it gave me this link!
Don’t you think it’s so cool?
Meet Popo! He’s a golden retriever and we’ll pick him up this Saturday afternoon. I can’t wait.
His name was short for Popovych, after the cyclists Yaroslav Popovych. Before we got to that name, there were several suggestions. First were Sauron or Saruman, after the Lord of the Rings. Next was Piolo, after… well… Fafa Piolo. Then there was Edwin so that it would really sound like a man’s name. There’s also Graham, after the famous cycling photographer Graham Watson. Other suggestions were Hot (dog), Whitey, Sunog, Stef and Tito Boy.
So what do you guys think?
I’ll try to post pictures of him when we pick him up.
I just finished the first of one and a half days of the Kepner-Tregoe Engineering the Performance System workshop and I came into this realization – the HR department will be the first one to panic if Microsoft pulls out clip-art from their Office suite.
I graphed my latest run. I did it this morning in the Ateneo. Doing a 5-kilometer run wasn’t as easy as the ones I did last year, but I”m pretty sure I’ll be improving my run times as my body gets into the program.
I have a new toy. It’s the Nike+ system and it hooks up your iPod Nano to your Nike+ running shoe to give you valuable running data along with your music. Really, really nice stuff.
I’ll probably be staying in the 3-kilometer and 5-kilometer range until my body adjusts to the activity and I slowly improve my run times.
Got a Nike+, too? Hook up with me so we can do challenges!
I was finally able to enjoy a pizza made especially for my diet, and I must say that it’s not that bad at all. In fact, It’s actually quite good.
So for those craving for pizza but must stick to a low-fat, low-salt, no-meat diet, below is my version.
What you need:
All-Wheat Pizza Crust
Del Monte Classic Pizza Sauce
Sliced Mushrooms
Diced Pineapples
All these ingredients may be sourced from an above-average supermarket. When shopping, please take some time to read the nutritional information at the label and make sure that the fat and sodium levels are low. Also, remember to check the serving size. A product may have very low amounts of fat or salt per serving, but if you need at least three packets then it’s useless. For your toppings, it’s better if you can get these fresh rather than in a can.
A couple of notes on the Del Monte Classic Pizza Sauce:
1. You’re probably better off using their Tomato Paste than this one because of the sodium content if you really want to stay away from salt. I just chose the pizza sauce because I want more flavor to my pizza and the salt level is OK.
2. Use the Classic style rather than the Sweet Style sauce. The salt content difference between the two is pretty significant.
Now when you have all these ingredients, all you have to do is spread the pizza sauce on the pizza crust and put all the toppings. When you’re cool with it, pop it in your oven toaster for about four to five minutes and you’re ready!
You may notice that I didn’t use cheese. Well, that’s because it’s either high in fat or high in salt. Not worth it.
Enjoy!
If you have suggestions, leave a comment!

“And I’m getting the HERD roasted chicken, please!”
So this must be good for a group of four to eight people. It’s a herd, right? Oh wait! It’s the herd that roasted the chicken. Ahhh! I get it!
Don’t you just love the Philippines for their humor? This was taken from the menu of Petrus Cafe, a restaurant opposite the Eugenio Lopez Jr. Communications Center along Mother Ignacia Avenue in Quezon City.

I’m filing this under the Am I seeing that right?! category. I noticed this while we were on our way to Mini-Stop, and I just had to stop and take a picture.
I understand what they do when they offer their dry cleaning, laundry and alterations services. What I don’t know are their leather bags and leather jackets services.
Hehehehe! Nice. Really nice!
